#10 - Time for something crazy!

“Ugh, I wish it were Christmas already,” Lily grumbles as she gazes out the window. Her dog, Charlie, pretends not to hear her. Outside, a light drizzle falls, and the garden look really dreary. The weekend is about to start, but for now, the house is eerily quiet. She briefly considers putting on some delightful Christmas music but decides it’s still a bit too early for that. After all, it’s only the beginning of November.

“A-ha! That recipe from the e-guide!” Lily exclaims with a grin. “Charlie! It’s time for some fun. Time for something crazy.” And crazy it is!

On a whim, she sends a message to her -often chaotic- group chat with her sister Lisa and friends Sophie and Tess. “I’m baking a cake today!” she writes boldly. “Who dares to come over at 8 tonight for a slice? Hurry up and RSVP, because once it’s gone, it’s gone! And trust me, it’s going to be insanely good!”

As if everyone’s been waiting for this message… Within minutes, her little party is fully booked. Everyone’s coming. She dashes to her computer and prints out the shopping list from the guide. Seven hours to go. Time to get to work!
