Sophie slumps at Lily’s kitchen table, tears in her coffee. “I can’t do this anymore,” she sniffles. “Work. Deadlines. People. Everything.” Lily listens, nods, hands her a tissue—and then her eyes light up. “Let's grab our bikes,” she says. "Let’s go for that castle tour we’ve always talked about. No phones, no worries. Just ride.” Sophie blinks. “Now? Really?” “Absolutely!” Twenty minutes later, they are pedaling through sun-dappled streets, the stress melting with every turn of the wheel. The wind whips their hair, birds sing along, and even a runaway dog joining the path makes them laugh. Sophie, who has been tense and teary, begins to grin. When they reachthe first castle, they explore hidden courtyards, peer over stone walls, and pause to take silly selfies in front of turrets. Every cobblestone street feels like an adventure, every hill a small victory. By the third castle, Sophie is laughing so hard she nearly topples over in her saddle. “I can’t remember the last time I felt this… free,” she admits, brushing hair from her face. By the time they pedal back home, Sophie feels completely recharged—100% uploaded, her worries left behind on the castle paths. “I’m ready,” she laughs, “to tackle work and crush those problems again!” Lily grin. “See? Who needs a fancy trip when a few hours on a bike can do this?” Sophie nods, spinning her wheels in a little victory circle. Sometimes, freedom really just comes on two wheels, a sunny afternoon, and a friend who knows when to say, let’s go.
