#59 - Do you agree that the best trips are unplanned?

“Why do we always plan everything?” Lily asks.
Her husband Ben looks up from his laptop and smirks. “What do you mean?”
“Well, why don’t we just do something—right now? No schedule, no to-do lists. Just… spontaneous.”
“Like what?” He leans back in his chair, raising an eyebrow.
Lily’s eyes sparkle. “An impulsive trip. We take our bikes, ride to the city, grab a cocktail in the sun, maybe a waffle… just escape for a bit.”
With that, they hop on their bikes, the spring breeze brushing against their faces. The sun is warm, the air fills with the scent of blooming flowers.. They pedal past golden fields, winding paths, and sleepy villages, enjoying the rare feeling of absolute freedom.
By the time they reach the city, their legs are tired but their spirits high. A charming little terrace on the square catches Lily’s eye. “That one,” she says, pointing to a sunlit table. Moments later, they ar sipping mojitos, a plate of golden, chocolate-drizzled waffles between them.
Then—laughter. Familiar laughter. They turn to see two friends Kate and Cal crossing the street. “No way!”
“What are you doing here?”
“Absolutely nothing,” Ben grins. Hours pass in effortless conversation, glasses clink, stories flow. A simple bike ride has turned into an unexpected reunion, the kind of day that couldn’t be scripted.
As the sun sets, Lily smiles. “Should we plan more spontaneous trips?”
