#62 - What if you don’t have a big goal in life?

“Jack, what do you want to be later?” Lily asks as they sit at the breakfast table.

“Prime Minister!” he says, stuffing his mouth with toast.

“And you, Jules?”

“A famous YouTuber.”

Ella rolls her eyes. “I want to be a marine biologist and do research on the oceans.”

Lily smiles. “See? Goals! Goals are important.”

Her husband Ben looks up from his coffee. “And what’s your goal?”

Lily opens her mouth. Then closes it. Huh. She always encourage the kids to dream big, but what about her?

“Well…” she stalls. “Keeping you all alive and semi-decently dressed?”

The kids laughs, but the question stuck. Does she need a big life goal? Or is enjoying the ride enough?

“Maybe my goal is to figure that out,” she finally says a little embarrassed. But maybe that’s okay.

What about you—do you have one?
