#84 - DAY 2 - Baking queen of smudge

Lily is in full baking queen mode. Apron on, spatula in hand, and a vision of the perfect Easter meringue in her head. She hums, sprinkles, swirls… and then disaster strikes. The meringue collapses in the middle, like a sugary sinkhole swallowing her hopes and dreams.

She stares in horror as the whipped cream oozes over the edges, grapes roll off like tiny escape artists, and a pineapple slice somehow flings itself onto the dog.

Ella peeks into the kitchen. “Uhm… is it supposed to look like that?”

“It’s abstract,” Lily says defensively, hands on hips.

But when they taste it—fruity, creamy, crispy in all the right places—the kitchen bursts into giggles and sticky fingers. Ben licks his spoon. “Looks like a mess. Tastes like heaven.”

But when they taste it—pure heaven. Suddenly no one cares about the looks. They’re laughing, licking their fingers, and declaring it the best ‘ugly cake’ ever.

Still, on Easter morning, Lily wisely picks up a breathtaking masterpiece from the town’s best bakery. She places it on the table like she baked it herself. Everyone gasps.

And Lily? She just winks. Baking queen or cake connoisseur—either way, she’s winning.
