How to resist the temptation of Easter chocolate (Or at least delay it gracefully)

How to resist the temptation of Easter chocolate (Or at least delay it gracefully)

“Just popping into the store for milk,” Lily thinks confidently.

Two minutes later, she is standing in the Easter aisle of the store— glowing like a pastel fever dream. Chocolate eggs. Elegant praline boxes. Giant bunnies staring at her with shiny chocolate confidence.

Oh no. Easter is Lily’s season. She can practically smell the cocoa through the packaging. “Don’t do it,” she whispers to herself. Her hand floats toward a perfectly sculpted chocolate bunny. She freezes mid-grab. The bunny remains on the shelf. Victory.

But temptation is persistent. A few steps further: pralines in a limited-edition spring box. “Limited edition,” Lily repeats dramatically. “That means if I don’t buy this now, civilization might collapse.” She inhales deeply. Freezes again.

“Who are you actually for?” she asks the bunny silently.
For the Easter brunch table? For Lisa’s upcoming birthday? Or simply because it is… adorable? And probably delicious?

Then she remembers Jack at breakfast. “Mom! There is no chocolate in this house at all?” The accusation. The injustice. Quickly, two modest bags of mini eggs enter the cart. Responsible. Measured. Mature. Well done, Lily!

At checkout, she feels something unusual. But, she tells herself, she prefers her magic unwrapped on Easter morning.

Back home, she makes a proper chocolate plan for the Egg Hunt and brunch. Planning feels almost as satisfying as unwrapping.

She glances down at her cup. And … the mini chocolate egg beside it.

So tell me — Do you have tricks to resist the Easter chocolate?
