#2 - Life is full of surprises

Lily's plan to shake things up a little bit for herself and her family, lies in front of her, crumpled—both literally and figuratively. Her goal to bring more joy into the household is proving to be more challenging than she thought. 

For her “Project Lily,” she can’t seem to get beyond a few vague ideas: trips, parties, fun things together… but what exactly? Her birthday is still months away. A weekend getaway to the seaside? Or just a day trip? She can already hear their kids complaining, “So boring… I’m staying home… I’ve got a football match… I won’t miss scouting.”

“Where’s my creativity?” Lily mutters. To make matters worse, the dog starts whining. “I’m busy. Not now!” Lily snaps. But Charlie won’t give up. He wants a walk, and he wants it now.

“Grrr… okay, fine! We’ll go!” she says, frustrated. She grabs the leash and her coat. Outside, a beautiful autumn sun is shining. She heads down the street, planning to turn onto the forest path, but Charlie pulls in another direction. “You get your way now, and then you leave me alone later, deal?” Charlie seems fine with that, of course. He leads her through the village.

 “Hey Lil!” she hears suddenly. Sophie waves from a terrace at ‘Café Latte.’ Out of nowhere, the day turns into a lovely afternoon. The two friends enjoy cappuccinos with Charlie resting at their feet. What a surprise!
